Home Inspo: Ladders

Last week the Ikea 2015 catalog arrived in the mail. I love looking through it, as it is always full of new and creative ideas. I really liked these shelves, they look like a ladder but are are also a great way to add shelf space. Our bedroom is lacking some decor to it. The main point of focus is the wall behind our bed which is navy blue with a big white frame, while the rest of the walls are white. Right in front of our bed is the closet and next to it there is an empty space, were right now we put our shoes. I have been thinking of how to add something to the space without making it look overwhelming. I have a few ideas in mind, and once I saw the Ikea shelves it made me think of either adding them or getting a ladder and using it to hang things to the space next to the closet. I love the use of ladders for decor, especially the natural looking ones. These are my favorite four ways of using a ladder for decor, the third one is from Ikea. 

I love all of them but I think the first and last ones are my favorite, which one do you like?

Home Inspo: Indoor Trees

I love plants and what they add to a space! I think I inherited this love for plants from my mom who always has as many plants as she can fit in her home. I love the idea of an indoor tree, right now in our home we have a couple indoor plants and we are planing on getting a couple more plants and some herbs for our tiny porch. But I have one corner in mind for and indoor tree and am trying to decide which one I like best. These are my favorite fiddle fig tree, eucalyptus, olive tree, and lemon tree. I think my two favorite are the fig tree and the olive tree. Which one should we go for? I think I'll go to the plant nursery and decide there.

Christmas Decor DIYs to Try

Christmas is only two weeks away, so in the midst of all the preparation (or in my case dreaming of Christmas preparation) I hope you find some time to make some of your own Christmas decor. Home Inspo: Colorful Doors

Colorful doors are such a wonderful way to bring some life into your home and really make a house look welcoming. Whenever I see colorful doors I think to myself "the people who live there must be fun and cheery". Doors are so important in my opinion, they can really change the look of your home. Here is  a little inspiration...

I would love to have one of these colors for my front door, I would probably choose the turquoise or yellow, they are both so bright and cheery!

Etsy Finds

A lovely handmade home accessories shop, Bailey Doesn't Bark. I love the simple design using nature as an inspiration. These would be great as a hostess gift or a housewarming gift. The textiles are made by artists in India, isn't that wonderful?

Home Inspo: Tree Stump Side Table

Tree stumps as side tables, I'm loving that idea. It brings a little rawness to a room, a hint of rustic. I especially like the idea of adding it to a modern looking room, it brings in something homey. It would be really easy to DIY this, you just need a good looking tree stump. In Israel it might be hard to find one, but from now on I will be on the look out. I would love to add this as either a side table or bunch a few up as a coffee table.

Bottle Love

Let's talk about bottles, I am in love with them. I love the use of bottles for decor; vintage bottles, painted bottles, bottles as vases and I can go on and on. I especially love the picture above with the vintagey feel. When ever I see cute bottles I want to immediately buy them. When we were planning our wedding I had the excuse that I will use them for the wedding decor, which I did, but now I have to restrain my self or else our little house will be overrun by bottles.

Pop of Pink

I usually don't use pink in my home decor, I lean towards blues and greens; but I just love this wall. Wouldn't it be fun to have a pop of color like this? I am dreaming of the day we will have our own home and I could put some color on the walls. In Israel most homes have white walls in the main living areas; bedrooms are sometimes painted in a different color but overall the norm is white. There is something fresh about white walls, they have a peaceful and clean vibe, but coming from Canada I really believe a little bit of color can bring so much warmth into a living space. I am sure some of our walls will be white, but I would love to add a little color as well. I love the flamingos and the color is so much fun in this image.

Maybe for a bathroom or girl’s room, until then I’ll keep dreaming.
